For the first time in Sweden, the Belgian artist Berlinde De Bruyckere is showcased in a major solo exhibition at Artipelag. The critically acclaimed exhibition 'No Life Lost' offers a comprehensive presentation of De Bruyckere's art practice, featuring a selection from 1995 to the present day. Berlinde De Bruyckere's large-scale sculptures and installations of wax, wood, textile, metal and horse hide are executed in an unmistakable artistic style. Grappling with the existential human condition, De Bruyckere's work addresses human vulnerability and fragility, desire and suffering, resilience and transformation. Including sculptures, installations and works on paper, No Life Lost spans from 1995 until today. With its diverse materials and extensive time span, the exhibition comprehensively presents De Bruyckere's art practice. A core theme in the exhibition is the ambiguity of the human condition and the fundamental human search for transformation, transcendence and reconciliation in the face of mortality. De Bruyckere is also highly topical at the 60th edition of the Biennale with an official Collateral Event for the Abbazia di San Giorgio Maggiore.

Artipelag is a unique venue for art, architecture, design, events and top-quality food in a beautiful archipelago setting on Värmdö, just 30 minutes from Stockholm city. The name Artipelag is a combination of Art, Activities and Archipelago. The idea was to create a destination where art, culture and gastronomy could interact and where the archipelago would be present throughout. Today, Artipelag has achieved international recognition, primarily through the numerous acclaimed art exhibitions displayed in the art gallery and the surroundings since its inception in 2012.
