Performance: ‘We dive, we float, we sink, we sing, we turn upwards’

Konsthall 16 is a non-commercial art gallery. It’s the result of a collaboration between Tore A Jonasson’s foundation and Riksidrottsmuseum (the National Sports Museum). The purpose of the foundation is to present temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, to show selected works from the collection and to annually acquire sports-related art and award a number of grants to artists and sports practitioners.

In conjunction with Alexandra Larsson Jacobson’s current exhibition at Konsthall 16, We Play, I Push, You Hold, We Fall, we are presenting a performance work during Stockholm Art Week. The event is organised together with Selma City Spa. We invite you to an event in the middle of Stockholm, with a stupendous view of Kungsholmen, taking place in the rooftop pool at Clarion Hotel Sign.

In collaboration with Konstsim kreativ, and exploring the body as a sculpture in motion, Alexandra Larsson Jacobson has created a choreography set to Mira Eklund’s specially-composed sound and music, in a performance featuring synchronised swimmers interacting with Larsson’s floating sculptures. Just as a human body consists of several parts, the swimmers use their bodies to make kaleidoscopic and mirroring formations that create a new, collective body. Mira Eklund performs her music live as an integral part of the work.
